What is Agent Banking? 

Agents are grocery stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, phone shops etc. that are acquired, trained and certified by SHWE Bank to conduct basic banking transactions on the Bank’s behalf. Agents are equipped with Electronic Device Channel loaded with card software application, with which agents assist clients in making cash deposits, cash withdrawals, cardless withdrawals, account transfers, pay bills, mobile top-up and other basic banking transactions.

Who is Eligible to be an Agent 

Type of entity that can apply to be an Agent: 

  • Sole-Proprietor
  • Partnership

Qualities of Agent includes: 

  • Ongoing business concern for a minimum of 12 months 
  • Valid Business/ Trading Registration License  
  • Has any Bank Account for a period of at least 12 months  
  • Ability to maintain sufficient cash and float balances in the mobile money account 
  • Strategic location and has Physical Shop 
  • Proximity to Banks/ATMs 
  • Standing in the community 
  • Motivation of agents to provide Agent Banking products and services 

What do I do if interested to be a SHWE Agent Join our winning team 

  • Complete the Agent Application Form at the nearest SHWE Bank branch.
  • Submit the completed Agent Application Form and submit this together with a copy of all identification and registration documents to your preferred SHWE Bank branch. A SHWE Bank deposit account will need to be opened (Current or Savings or Call account).
  • If your application is accepted, a representative from our Bank will visit your business location for the final assessment 
  • Finally, you will be informed of the outcome of your application within 1 month.
